On the 7th September 2012, the moment we first stepped into Hall 5, it was obvious that Kimberly was super excited over it. She was going “OMG so coool~ Omg So coool~” Hahahah! As we walked to the backstage, I was trying to catch a glimpse of EVERYTHING, but the biggest booth there was the Cherry Credits booth. I was like O.O wooooow~ Following that, there was the cordoned off area FULL OF AWESOME COMPUTERS~ ZOMG!!! Where the DOTA2 group match would be held later! There was also a Redbull booth, a booth selling game consoles and games, a stage for the CosX held the next day, and a section displaying the local game development industry!! ( I will go into details laeter xP)

Chen Yi Xi: TGX 2012
Hi Everyone! Its YiXi here again!! It has been a while since i last updated! Anyway, it has been a super busy week. The assignments in school has been piling up!! And alot of reading to catch up! Who was the one who said University life would be easier!? He/She ought to be bashed up. But overall, it is still fun!!
Anyway! It is only a FEW more days to TGX 2012!! Is everyone excited? I sure am! Have been going through couple of picture of the cosplays (my friend’s who are cosplayers)on facebook, and I am definitely very interested to see what is going to appear on the day itself! Not to mention that the fact that it is going to be one of the LARGEST and HIGHEST cash prized cosplay event, I can definitely expect the cosplayers putting up a good “fight”!! So be sure to come down to check out the CosX with me k!!
I also would liek to share with everyone my little hobby… which is Papercrafting!! Well, since young i have always been intrigued with the certain in-anime or in-game items, so i have been creating my own toys out of paper for myself. For example, i used to make Pokedex out of paper back in school! Hahhaha! Well, this gradually grew up into a hobby where i make stuff out of papercrafts!! Below is the example of a papercraft i made not too long ago:
TGX Mall Tour
Hello Everyone!! Its been a while since i last updated my Blog! My apologies!! It has been a rough week in school. I got a super high fever on the first day, and a super bad sore throat on the following days. I can’t even talk!! But to cut to the point, I would like to share with everyone my experience with my FIRST mall tour for TGX.
Upon arrival, I met up with the host, Ai Wei from 933 FM!! Im sure you have heard her voice on the radio before!!. It was a nice chit-chat session to know more about each other. And I realized that she also played games!! Like Final Fantasy XIII and Red Dead Redemption! How cool is that!! Its really rare to find gamer ladies =x Heheheh. We talked about the recent games that she played, which was Final Fantasy XIII as mentioned above. And well.. we found it agreeable that it was a tad bit confusing and repetitive. However, apart from that, it was a great game xD Unfortunately, she had to leave her PS3 to rot due to her work demands. Which is something we all cannot turn a blind eye to! So I believe it is a good point to pick out about the work life and game life balance!
Well that aside, we finally went up stage to talk more on the games I play!! Well here is a List of games i played that i can share with everyone! Well.. only a rough list cause i cannot remember EVERYTHING!!!
Mario, Kirby, The legend of Zelda, Supersmash brothers, Rayman Rabbits, Cooking Mama, Harvest Moon, Okami, Fable 3, Halo 1/2/3, Devil May Cry, Skyrim… and many more xD
Well, I also have a list of MMORPGs which i played =x Like…Ragnarok online, Dream of Mirror online, and many more..
It was unfortunate that during the week where I was suppose to attend Interviews with regards to TGX, I succumbed to a Super Sore throat… it was horrible.. Apparently, it was Bai Hou (White Throat in Chinese). It really was pretty bad.. But now that I am all recovered, I can finally resume my activities!
Anyway, I really would like to share with everyone some of my Gaming experience.. So today, Ill touch on an Iphone game called “Buddy Rush”. I find this game to be one of the CUTEST and interesting cross-social platform games ever. A few good points to note is :
Goh Yong Wei: My first 18 days of BMT
Since no cameras are allowed in all military camps in Singapore, I’ll be using screenshots from this video and other interweb sources to illustrate what I’ve gone through my first 18days of Basic Military Training with the Singapore Armed forces, I own none of the following contents…..
Abstract off the Wikipedia page for “Every Singaporean Son”
Every Singaporean Son is a Singaporean documentary released in 2010. It serves as an education tool for all pre-enlistees during their Basic Military Training in Singapore. Most of the episodes were filmed at Pulau Tekong. 18 episodes were released. The first episode airs on 7 July 2010 on Youtube, subsequent episodes were released on every Tuesday, each clip lasted for 6 to 8 minutes.
On the ferry towards Pulau Tekong, an “isolated” island off the shores of Singapore catered for military trainings in Singapore. Upon embarkation of the ferry, all enlistees were ordered to tuck in shirts and remove caps.

After disembarkation of the ferries, all enlistees are gathered for a short briefing, I’m glad I enlisted along with a few ex-schoolmates that I know, so I wasn’t really lonely at that point of time.
This was pretty much how everyone looked, confused and low on morales. With everyone being clueless about everything, at the time it was hard to spot the blur sotongs. Coincidentally(or not), I was enlisted into the same company as these guys in the video, Orion Company of BMTC School 2, so whatever that you saw in the episodes of Every Singaporean Son, is pretty much what I’m seeing as well.

Mint Leong: Song Recording For V-singer Contest: Ka Fei by Jackie Cheung
Another stepping stone for me.
I suck when it comes to performing during singing contests: breaking into cold sweat, body trembling and feeling nauseous. My knees go weak and I turn pale as ghost standing in front of the panel of judges. I still do.
Then again, I can’t seem to stop myself from participating in these contests to gain more exposure– the learning milestones. Whenever I make progress and move a step higher by being selected to the next round, I tell myself that I want to strive to improve; a boost for myself and my undying passion for singing.
I found another reason to join singing contests: Making new friends who hold the same value as I do; our love & value for music are unbeatable. We hold the same frequency, the understanding of fear of rejection and anticipation we contain within ourselves. In times like these, we support and encourage one another to do our best; Times like these when we meet true friends.

Chen Yi Xi: What’s CosX in TGX 2012?
Greetings to everyone! This would actually be my first blog post! Actually, I should give myself a proper intro first. Most people know me as Edmund Chen’s and Xiang Yun son. But I prefer to be called Chen Yi Xi. ^^ Of course, like most people, I have my hobbies which includes watching Animes, reading Mangas, drawing, playing my guitar, and of course, GAMING!!
For my first post, I would like to share my Cosplay Session together with Kimberly Chia as the TGX Ambassadors! ( I am pretty sure most of you know who Kim is
If not, TURN ON THE TV!!) Both of us headed down to Movie Mania, where it is literally a Treasure Place for all movie/game/anime fanatics. They make props and costumes for any show or game you can name! Of course, we were given a whole bunch of costumes to choose from:
At first, they gave me a Spiderman costume, which is a BIG “NO-NO”. Well, I really wouldn’t want to wear a skin-tight costume and run around, especially having my scrawny physique. They then chose for me a Fantastic Four costume which belongs to “Mr Elastic”. Which is another SKIN-TIGHT costume..
Hence, I decided to seek advice from the staff from the VizPro… and Voila! It was decided that I should cosplay as Jin-Roh, which came from the 1998 anime “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade”. This is not to be confused with the game “Killzone” where the enemies have a similar armor design. XD Here are some of the pics taken that day!

Very often one would ask ? Where shall we go this time for our annual vacations ? Different people have different needs and expectations, so to plan a good holiday one must be conscious and aware of what one wants in a holiday! I have a list which I think would help you to plan a great holiday
Different people will have a different check list . I for one will zoom in on the following to ensure that I plan a great travel destination.
1. Safety
2. Affordability ( It’s got nothing to do if the place is less expensive or on the high end but your willingness to splurge and go with the flow )
3. The intrinsic and holistic experience one can get out of the destination
4. The cultural appeal , the people and the food
5. The types of accommodation available.
6. The activities available there
If you really come to think of the above , I am certain every destination far and near will be able to fulfill most if not all the above. It’s all a mindset.
Enjoy your travel Planning !
What is a holiday ?

I can only think that this word is derived from the word “Holy day ” where everything stops and people take a break and rest. People gets busy with rituals and do things they normally would not do on an ordinary day. The term holiday must have evolved to it’s current form where people literally take a break and go somewhere to recuperate , enjoy and merry make.
So I will take it that holiday would mean any special day of rest or relaxation, as opposed to normal days away from your daily work , school , jobs etc ..
Having lived and worked in so many cities , I can only say that different people enjoy their holidays differently. Some are more laid back , some still as tensed as ever and some really let their hair down to explore and appreciate the new environment and pick up a tip or two along the way. So what makes a good holiday guide ? I can only say that there is no one guide that will work for everyone. Different people have different needs , wants , expectations and perception. Simply put , it all depends on your age , the environment you grew up in , your values , your expectation , your perception , your demands and they all adds up to how your will enjoy your holiday.
Planning a holiday can be a piece of cake for some while it can be a night mare and a big headache for others. You are not alone if you feel the latter. Having lived out of a suitcase for so many years , I still find planning for a holidays sometimes a little stressful especially when you are going to somewhere for the very first time and with people you have not traveled together before.
To help you take out some of the stress of planning a good holiday , perhaps you may like to include some of these travel tips. It may work for some , it may not be necessary for others. You know what is best for you !.
1. Involve the people you are travelling with in the planning.
2. Select the destination carefully. Different destination will suit different people. Not everyone will enjoy your choice destination for some reasons. Respect their views.
3. Pack light but right. This is especially important if the destination you are visiting have different temperature and climate. Be comfortable and dress right.
4. Enjoying the journey and the destination. This include accommodation , sights to visit , things to do , where to shop, what to do together . etc …
5. Leave the comfort of home “at home”. ( You are on a holiday in a foreign land , things will be somewhat different and may be a little strange, embrace it and enjoy it )
6. Spending quality time together and doing things together is important too. If you don’t then why travel together ?
7. Pamper and treat yourself a little . You are having a holiday , remember ?
8. Laugh it out if things do not turn out the way you want it to be. Don’t blame anybody.
9. Coming home – Relieve those happy and not so happy memories together.
10. Start planning your next one and ensure it will be even better than the last.
Well I supposed if you have these key vital pointers , you are on track to have a pleasant and memorable holidays. Enjoy your planning and have a blast of a time !!
