Description: Susan started her broadcasting career in 1977 with the then Radio & Television Singapore (RTS) as producer-presenter, and her career as a television presenter in 1978. Up till 1985, she was a full time broadcaster with Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). For over 33 years now, she has been a familiar face and voice with local TV & Radio audiences.

During the course of her broadcasting career, Susan had produced and presented magazine programmes, request programmes and talk shows for radio. She has also hosted major television programmes, including Talentime‘78, POSB Show, Sony Show, FeedBack, Christmas & New Year Specials, Shows co-organised by RTM/RTS/SBC in the 1980s, News and Weather Reports. Her most recent on-air TV stint was “Bringing Up Kids” for MediaCorp TV Channel 5, a 20 episode series focusing on parenting children. Susan is currently a part-time news presenter and feature (Parenting Today) producer/presenter with 938LIVE, a station of MediaCorp Radio. She also produced and presented “Parenting Today” as a weekly talk show which ran for 9 years, for the station. Susan is often engaged to provide voice-overs for TV & Radio commercials, telephone on-hold messages & IVRS, TV & corporate documentaries and video presentations.
As a Master of Ceremonies, she has emceed numerous major high profile events over the years, including the Singapore International Water Week (2008, 2009 & 2010), Singapore Airshow Opening Ceremony 2010, Singapore Brand Conference 2010, PS21 Star Awards 2006, 2008 & 2009 (for Public Service Division, PMO), National Citizenship Ceremony 2007 & 2009, Gala Dinner for Prince Albert II of Monaco (2008), FUNTASIA 2008 (celebrating Singapore Pools 40th Anniversary & Singapore Tote Board’s 20th Anniversary), Pro-Family Business Conference 2008, National Family Celebrations 2008 Closing Event, APB Foundation Signature Art Prize Gala Dinner 2008, President’s Award for the Environment 2008, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Conference 2002-2009, World Lottery Association Opening & Gala 2007, NCSS 40th & 50th Anniversary Galas, ASTA Gala Dinner (for STB), APEC Ministers’ Meeting, Asian Aerospace, National Day Parades, Singapore Armed Forces Day Parades, Chingay Parades, Prime Minister’s May Day and National Day Rallies, Millenium Achievement Award for Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohammed, President’s Charity Ball, Tribute to President Ong Teng Cheong Dinner, Launch of the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund, Official Opening of the Bayanihan Centre by Philippines President Gloria Arroyo, ASEAN Business Forum, Tsunami Memorial Service, Memorial Service for former President Devan Nair, and the list goes on. Susan is also a familiar face & regular emcee at the annual STB Christmas Light-Up on Orchard Road, various MCYS Awards Ceremonies, Conferences & Dinners, and numerous events for private & public sector organisations.
As part of her continuing social contributions, Susan provides her emcee services on a voluntary basis to numerous voluntary welfare and non-profit organisations (including Community Chest, National Council of Social Service, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, Students Care Service, Society for the Physically Disabled, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Yellow Ribbon Project, Tsao Foundation, amongst others), the annual President’s Challenge events and annual Community Chest Awards at the Istana (since 1985).
Aside from her hosting, voice-over, and radio/TV work, Susan is now a part-time Senior Consultant with Integrative Learning Corporation (a training & consulting company). Prior to this, she owned and operated her own events management company. She was also Communications Manager and Marketing Manager with Community Chest, and Public Relations Manager with The Mandarin Singapore.
Susan understands that projecting a well groomed professional image is an important part of her job. This includes proper use of voice, appropriate body language and how to get the message across clearly. The hallmarks of Susan’s style is her breezy candour and cheerful demeanour even under the most exacting circumstances. Her vast experience stands her in good stead to handle unexpected situations that may crop up even in the most well planned events.
Since age 15, Susan has received speech training and taken Speech & Drama exams from the Trinity College, London. She is also trained in presentation skills by trainers from the British Broadcasting Corporation.
